HorsePower Academy Jr. is an entry-level program introducing children to fundamental equine principles, such as feeding, grooming, and the basic care of a horse. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of caring for and riding a horse and being introduced to the various disciplines in the horse show world.

Beginning Students will Learn:
  • safety rules
  • mounting and dismounting
  • basic position
  • control of the horse at the walk and trot
  • sitting the trot or jog
  • posting, balance position
  • basic trail rules
Horse Sense Section:
  • approaching
  • haltering and leading
  • basic grooming

Programming for

12-17 Year Olds

HorsePower Academy Sr.’s weekly sessions focus on basic equestrian skills like mount, dismount, balance, leg pressure, steering, and total use of hands and legs through creative drills. We also highlight a positive character trait in each session such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. HorsePower Academy will expose your child to the fun of show horses and provide the foundation needed to get started in the sport.

Programming for

Premier 6-17 Year Olds

This program is for children who want to build upon what they have learned in HorsePower Academy Jr. & Sr. Focusing on individual skill, fitness, poise and sportsmanship, each session provides an opportunity for kids to be challenged through competitions. Children will also be introduced to tactical elements of the sport as they prepare to exhibit and show at a variety of venues in actual horse shows.
